The CrossCountry franchise began on 11 November 2007 and since then we have been working to ensure that journeys with us are as relaxing and comfortable as possible.
Many improvements have already been made; however, we will continue to strive for excellence by listening to what our customers tell us they want. Here’s an idea of just some of the ways we plan to make changes to improve your journey.
Better trains, more space, increased services. Customers tell us that getting a seat is their top priority and work to refresh every one of our trains to provide more seats was completed in 2009. Our trains now have comfortable new interiors with 35% more seating space and 25% extra luggage space across the entire fleet.
In addition to the refurbishment of the current fleet, we have invested in five High Speed Trains (HSTs) to increase capacity on the popular North-East to South-West route.
